Kayak 5 Miles searching for GPS spot
Went out looking for New Hope Rock located a mile off the coast of Point Loma. Air visibilty was good so I had nice views of the Coronados. I thought why not just paddle till I get there?
Never found the high spot that comes to 20 ft of the surface but may have found some structure. Was using the depth finder on my new used scupper pro. The conditions were rough and propbably had 20 knot winds almost head on for the return. One stretch had confused seas which was fun. Viz was in the 8 foot range once I got out there but probably in the 3 foot range inside. Was nice to have a paddle where I could really "dig in"and "work" to make the headway. Had I not left my fins in the the Element I would have slipped in to see what the bottom was like at 28 feet or so.
I'm confident I found the structure however so I'll probably venture forth here again. It was a pain carrying the kayak up the staircase and I made two trips up for the return carrying all the gear the first trip and the kayak on the final. Enjoy the pics.
